About Veronicah
Meet Veronicah Anindo Omusale, an 18-year-old with dreams of becoming self-sufficient despite the numerous challenges she faces. Veronicah is a bright and determined young woman who has been battling epilepsy since the age of 10. She is a total orphan and currently lives with her aunt in Wemilabi, Luanda. Despite the setbacks caused by her health, Veronicah is eager to learn and acquire skills that will enable her to support herself in the future.
Health Challenges
Veronicah’s epilepsy has severely impacted her educational progress, causing her to drop out of school in Grade 8 due to frequent seizures. Additionally, she has mild mental retardation, which further complicates her condition. She is under medication to manage her epilepsy and receives counseling to help her cope with her condition and improve her personal hygiene and care.
Despite these challenges, Veronicah remains hopeful and is determined to improve her life through vocational training.
Educational and Vocational Aspirations
Veronicah is currently enrolled at Itando Rehabilitation Center for Children with Disabilities, where she is receiving vocational training in tailoring and knitting. She dreams of mastering these skills to become financially independent and support herself and her family in the future. However, the financial burden of her medical needs and vocational training is overwhelming for her family.
