About Grace
Meet Grace Amati Ananda, a brave and resilient 4-year-old girl facing significant health challenges from birth. Grace was born with hydrocephalus, a condition that has required multiple surgeries to manage. Despite her struggles, Grace’s spirit remains unbroken, and she brings joy to her grandparents, who have taken her under their care after she was orphaned.
Health Challenges
Grace’s battle with hydrocephalus necessitated two operations, during which shunts were placed to regulate the pressure in her brain. This condition has caused her to have a disproportionately large head, resulting in physical weakness, especially in her legs, making it difficult for her to stand or walk. Additionally, Grace developed epilepsy at the age of 3, further complicating her health.
Her frail body requires constant medical attention to manage these conditions. Grace also exhibits symptoms of cerebral palsy and has speech problems, which require specialized care and support.
Daily Life and Needs
Grace lives with her grandparents, who struggle to provide for her needs due to their financial constraints. They perform casual labor to put food on the table, but the medical and therapeutic needs of Grace are far beyond their means. Despite these hardships, her grandparents are committed to giving her the best care they can.
Grace’s condition requires regular physiotherapy, epilepsy management, and assistance with activities of daily living. These medical services are crucial for her development and quality of life.
