About Seon
Meet Seon Akunda Osotsi, a bright and brave 5-year-old boy with an infectious zest for life. Born into a humble family, Seon is the second child among two siblings and lives with his caring mother in Khisikulu, Luanda, Vihiga. Despite the hardships, Seon’s spirit shines brightly through his smile and enthusiasm for learning.
Health Challenges
Seon was diagnosed with cerebral palsy on March 4, 2022, a condition that has impacted his development and daily activities. He also exhibits behaviors associated with autism, which require specialized attention and support. From a young age, Seon has faced significant challenges with walking, speaking, and holding objects. His hyperactivity requires careful dietary management and constant supervision.
Seon’s mother, Eunice Oyieko, works tirelessly to support her son, but their financial situation makes it difficult to afford the necessary medical and therapeutic interventions. Seon’s father, Austine Osotsi, is present in his life, but the family still struggles to meet the demands of Seon’s medical needs.
Daily Life and Aspirations
Seon attends regular physiotherapy sessions and engages in training for Activities of Daily Living (ADL), where he learns essential skills such as walking, speaking, and concentrating. These sessions are crucial for his development and help him gain more independence.
In addition to physiotherapy, Seon requires management and control for his autism-related behaviors. The Christian Touch Community Resource Center (CHRITOCO) provides essential support, but the cost of continuous treatment is beyond what his family can afford.
